Race 2010

In 2010 Gorgany Race started near Stara Huta village, Ivano-Frankivsk region. The competition was held in “Trek” and “Bike” categories including mountain biking/cycling, trekking/running, orienteering, rope activities. The teams from 2 to 4 people had to cover the distance of about 90 km (“Trek”) and about 160 km (“Bike”) along the challenging mountain terrain in less than 30 hours. Due to the difficult orienteering in covered by dense forest mountains, a considerable distance, the large differences in elevation, the need to repeatedly ford water obstacles, etc., only few managed to pass all the required checkpoints and meet the time limit. Overall, in 2010 the competition was attended by 66 teams (158 people), which represented almost all regions of Ukraine and a neighboring country Poland.

In the category “track” only two teams: “Ushliopky” (Uzhgorod), and “Ex-K2″ (Lviv) succeed and divided the 1st and the 2nd places. The 3rd was the team of Lviv “Phantom”. The one to cover the cycling distance fastest was the team “Gorganski pryvydy”(Lviv). The 2nd was the team “Palm order” (Zhitomir), the 3rd place – team “Elite sport team” (Chernivtsi).

The winners in “TREK” category: team “Ushliopky” (Uzhgorod) –  Dmytro Dzhmil, Volodymyr Kudriavtsev) and team “Ex-К2″ (Lviv) – Ihor Ilkiv, Yaroslav Pazhukh, Taras Pataman.

The winners in “BIKE” category: team “Gorganski pryvydy” (Lviv) – Roman Chepil, Nazarii Obaranets.
